TALKING PICTURES – Turkey – Canadian premiere – Jointly directed by Mehmet Binay & Caner Alper (short documentary)

When Turkish Director Mehmet Binay and Producer Caner Alper presented the North American premier of their documentary film WHISPERING MEMORIES (based on the Armenian community in the village of Geben who remained in Cilicia post 1915) at the 2008 Pomegranate Film Festival, they came face to face with Ghazaros Kerjilian, a descendant of Geben. Kerjilian was certain that he recognized the 109 year old Imam that appeared in the original film and along with Binay & Alper, they travelled back to Geben. TALKING PICTURES is the photographic journey of Kerjilian as he returns to his ancestral hometown of Geben in search of his great uncle, who went missing in 1915, in the hope that secret links are about to be unearthed.
