Armenia/Germany – 89 min. – directed by Samira Radsi – Armenian & German with English subtitles – North American Premiere
28 year-old Belinda finds herself stuck in her never-ending studies, a half-baked relationship and a quest to discover her identity. Raised by three cultures, her Armenian family emigrated from Istanbul in order to assure a better life for her. Belinda does not dare reveal her German boyfriend to her family while her Aunt goes to great lengths to find her a nice Armenian man to marry including a recruitment trip to Armenia! Both sentimental and humourous, this is a film that young Diasporan Armenians, as well as their parents, will easily relate to while demonstrating that discovering ones Armenian identity can entail different things for different people. The film will be released commercially in theatres throughout Europe in December 2011.
