Synopsis:

Closed Caption is a short, dramatic narrative that explores the nature of love, both literally and figuratively in the non-hearing world. Over the course of a day, Jack attempts to revive his tattered relationship with the morally-grey Christine. Complications ensue with the arrival of his younger brother Sam — requiring Jack to make a choice between his own heartache and his brother’s first crush.

Bio:

A 2010 recipient of the POMGrant, Jennifer Kassabian graduated from Ryerson University with a degree in Film Production and the university’s first children’s musical Traumrauber, which had its international debut in Cannes, and its Canadian premiere at POM in 2009. The film kick-started her professional writing career in television; where she has been working ever since. In 2010, Jennifer was a resident of the Canadian Film Centre’s Primetime Television Program, and received a CTV Banff Fellowship thereafter. Closed Caption marks her first collaboration with the National Film Board of Canada’s grant program and her third film to be showcased at POM.
