Toronto based director Jennifer Kassabian, whose previous film Traumrauber was presented at the 2008 Pomegranate Film Festival, explores the world of storytelling and relationships with her latest well crafted short film. Night after night, The Only, a watering hole for sophisticated urbanites, welcomes its most loyal patron, James, a writer. Indulging in whiskeys & lager, James sits at his post and writes tales for the bartender, his muse, Darling. Along comes Missy, a most bewitching habitué, who requests a story of her own. It all feels like the greatest fantasy. Except it’s not. It’s all very real, and today, Darling realizes that she must find the ending to her story.
